Vodafone Icons Contestants Leave For South Africa

As part of its commitment to empower young musically talented people to take up new heights in the music industry, Vodafone Ghana has taken this year�s Icons contestants to the Rainbow city; South Africa for a musical tour. This year�s show dubbed �Empowerment,� had contestants; Cena, Chris, Titi, Ratty and Alice, leave on the night of 6TH November, 2014 for South Africa to embark on exciting music adventures which would last till the 12th of November, 2014 after which they return for the grand finale on 26th November, 2014. The contestants would visit Emmendy Sound and Music Technology College campus on 7th November, between 12pm � 3pm, after which they would also announce their presence at the Barclays Bank Africa Choral Concert later in the night. Emmendy Sound and Music College is a very prestigious music college that is also skilled in sound engineering, where contestants would interact with the lecturers and students of the college. From the Emmendy college is a visit to Yvonne Chaka Chaka, the South African musician with over two decades of experience and the first Black child to appear on South African television. Yvonne Chaka Chaka, an experienced musician whose famous song �thank you mister dj� shook the whole world, would interact with the contestants and share some thoughts with them. This would be followed by another visit to the Virgin Sky room Urban Session at 5:30pm. On the 9th is also a visit to Gold Reef City, an amusement park in Johannesburg, South Africa, located on an old gold mine. Quickly after that is a visit to Neil Solomon Recording Studio (Passage One Music) on the 10th of November from 10am � 1pm. Rehearsal training sessions would take place there. To make their package very complete on that day, they would also go to Reece between 2pm � 7pm for profiling. Finally, on the 11th of November, 2014, the squad would also visit the famous Universal Record for recording of profiles and sounds and back to Ghana on Wednesday 12th November.
