Why NDC Constructed Ultra-Modern Headquarters (PHOTOS)

The new ultra-modern edifice of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) continues to be one of the controversial issues in the country as the party has declined to indicate the amount used in constructing the office. Speaking to delegates in the Volta Region over the weekend, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito justified the partys decision to construct the new office which is now the partys headquarters. Even though he again refused to indicate the amount involved, General Mosquito debunked the allegation that the six-storey building was constructed at the cost of $20 million. According to him, the party needs to construct such buildings because it is a permanent institution and not a temporary one. I dont know where this idea came from; that having a party headquarters is a crime in this countryI dont know. If people are talking about the cost, which they have manufactured for themselves, I want to tell you that it is far cheaper to build a party office than to buy 300 pickups for one campaign we intend acquiring regional offices and then proceed to acquire constituency offices because we are a permanent organization: we are not a temporary institution, so we have come to stay he stated.
