The suspects, who are said to be unemployed, include Ife Anyi Arinze, 24; Stanley Chima, 26; Ogbaide John, 20, and Chukwu Chikwado, 34. The rest are Prince Okonye, 22; Chinweuba Obisike, 22,1 and Henry Ugweublam, 19. The police found the fake dollar bills hidden in the ceiling of the room of the leader of the gang, currently at large. Additionally, the police retrieved a police uniform, 10 laptops, two daggers, two machetes, a knife and a pair of binoculars from the ceiling of the same room in a house at Lake Side, near Ashaley Botwe in Accra. Although the suspects claimed the items were used for movie productions, the police suspected the gang dealt in fake currency and also used the items retrieved from them for robbery and Internet fraud. Clash Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Legon District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr Emmanuel Basintali, said the suspects were arrested on November 18, 2014, at the residence of the suspected gang leader. He said the arrest followed intelligence reports after supporters of the elected king and the elected chairman of the Igbo Community in Ghana had clashed at a reception at East Legon. After the election, the elected king invited the delegates to his residence for refreshment, he said While in the kings house, Mr Basintali said, one of the supporters of the chairman lit a cigarette, but a supporter of the king told the smoker not to smoke in public. That, he said, resulted in a confrontation which led to a clash between the two groups. During the clash three persons were stabbed with broken bottles, leading to one sustaining a deep cut on his head, while the others had cuts on their hands and other parts of the body. The three injured persons were taken to hospital, while the followers of the chairman fled when the police were informed. The police, through investigations, identified the leader of the suspected gang, whose name was given only as Egbe, was one of the persons who had stabbed the wounded victims. It was when the police went to his house that they arrested the suspects who were at the refreshment with the items, he said.
