GJA To Meet Management Of Graphic Over Daniel Kenu's Dismissal

The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has resolved to meet the Management of Graphic Communications Group Limited over the dismissal of the Ashanti Regional Editor of the state-owned daily, Daniel Kenu. GJA General Secretary, David Agbenu told Peace News at Midday that the Association will intervene on behalf of Daniel Kenu to ensure the dispute between the Management and Kenu is settled amicably. According to him, the decision to sack him is "harsh" looking at the merit of the case. We have said severally that the punishment meted out to Daniel Kenu is harsh and we wished that we had not gotten to this position with this case. Harsh because we set out to seek justice for him. We all came together and vehemently protested the assault on him and we were supporting himAnd so, on that score, we were on the path to securing justice for him because hes been attacked by Asamoah Gyans brother and some of his supporters. Were going to seek audience with the Management of Graphic Communication Group. We want to have dialogue with them and to find out whether we can have some middle way where the decision that will be taken will be a bit minimal," he said.
