The Manner ECG Boss Was Sacked Is "Sad and Bad" - Titus Glover

Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover sees no reason why President John Dramani Mahama has to fire the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Rev. William Hutton-Mensah. The decision to sack Rev. Hutton-Mensah comes in a wake of an intense load shedding exercise across the country which has left households and companies go off several days without electricity for more than three consecutive days. Some angry residents in Accra and Kumasi have recently voiced their anger at the ECG. The aggrieved populaces blocked roads and threatened to beat up ECG officials. It is unclear whether or not the President's appointment is in reaction to the persistent power cuts, but the NPP lawmaker has described the Presidents approach as sad and bad. Speaking on Adom FM, Monday, Titus Glover pledged to join workers of the ECG who want their former boss to be reinstated. According to him, Rev. William Hutton-Mensah is a hardworking person who needs to be commended despite the disconcerting erratic power supply. The way they have treated the man is very bad, he said. President John Dramani Mahama last Friday sacked the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Rev. Ing. William Hutton-Mensah whiles on leave and appointed Robert Dwamena as Acting Managing Director of the company.
