Academicians Have Failed The Nation - Former Rector K'dua Poly

Prof. (Ing.) Raynolds Okai, former Rector of the Koforidua Polytechnic has stated that academicians are partly to blame for the lack of solutions to the numerous challenges facing Ghanaians. �To some extent, the tertiary institutions have failed the nation,� he said in a telephone interview with NEAT 100.9 FM. According to him, tertiary institutions have very fine professors who can profer solutions to the problems of Ghana through innovation and creativity but �I can�t simply understand what is happening. Adacamicians have failed our nation completely�. Touching on the disconnection of electricity supply to the Kumasi Polytechnic, Prof. Okai expressed support for the actions of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). �..left to me alone, the electricity supply to all tertiary institutions should be cut so that all the rest would follow the example of Koforidua Polytechnic, who produces part of their needed electricity...� he said.
