I Dont Need To Campaign To Retain My Position Mosquito Boasts

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia is more than confident of retaining his position as the party goes for delegates congress on December, 20 2014. According to him, he does not need to campaign to prove to delegates that he is competent for the job. I dont need to campaign to retain my position because the delegates know my worth, he stressed. General Mosquito as he is popular called was reacting to media reports that an NDC Constituency Chairman in Obuasi is lacing his boots to contest him. 44-year-old Abdul Ishaq Farrakhan has filed nomination to give General Mosquito a run for his money. The General was hitherto said to be going unopposed. But Asiedu Nketia on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme said I dont have time for competition. He indicated that the General Secretary position is not his bona fide property therefore any party member is qualified to contest. Since I was born I have not contested any position unopposed so I knew someone will definitely contest me. Mr. Asiedu Nketia prefers spending precious time planning a successful congress in Kumasi than fighting for his position. If the congress comes off successfully and I even lose my seat, it is better and in the interest of the party.
