Cocaine Lady Likely To Have Reduced Sentence - Kwesi Pratt

Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says Ms. Nayele Ametefe who was busted at Heathrow Airport in London in possession of 12.5 kilos of cocaine, is likely to have a lighter sentence. According to Mr. Pratt, Ms. Nayele's sentence may be reduced because she pleaded guilty in court. Nayele Ametefe, on Thursday November 27, 2014 pleaded guilty to the charge of illegally possessing and trafficking Class A drugs into the United Kingdom. Counsel for the defendant, Andrea Maria Brown, pleaded with the court to postpone the case to next four weeks but the suggestion was rejected by the presiding Judge, Edmunds Q.C. Nayele Ametefe has been remanded until 5th January, 2015 before she faces her sentence. Addressing the issue on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", Mr. Pratt indicated that her quick admission of guilt can help reduce the number of years she may have to spend in jail. "Her sentencing is likely to be lighter than if she had contested the case. If you challenge and defending, and drag the issue for government to incur cost, normally your sentencing is much higher than now and so on."
