George Afriyie Gets Nyantakyi Post

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Emergency Committee member George Afriyie has been appointed the new chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee. Shortly after taking office, he promised to do everything in his power to succeed. He however pointed out that success in his new role was directly linked to the support he would receive from other Executive Committee members. The tough-talking Emergency Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) told newsmen in Accra yesterday that with team work he would succeed. He pointed out that the Black Stars had gone through transition, learnt a lot from past mistakes and promised to put structures in place to ensure past mistakes like the Brazil experience would not recur. The team is going through a transition, and I believe together as a team, I will succeed and bring back the smiles on the faces of Ghanaians. Fortunately, I was in Brazil, I learnt a lot and I promise what happened will not happen again. And responding to how he will cope with managing big boys in the senior national team, he said, It will not be a big deal at all, I managed most of the players at the junior levels. Mr Afriyie takes over from GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, who exited on his own volition after three years in office.
