Outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Agyapong, has denied claims that he has close contacts with under-custody drug suspect, Nayele Ametefeh. �I don�t know the cocaine girl from Adam so all those linking her to me should stop...,� he stressed. Since the arrest of the lady known variously as Ruby Adu-Gyamfi, Ruby Appiah or Angel, many politicians especially spokespersons of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have called on the security personnel to interrogate the vociferous NPP legislator due to the belief that he knows �something� about the drug baroness. And these claims, Kennedy Agyapong, speaking on Accra-based Choice FM, called �untruthful comments insisting that �until her arrest, I did not know the drug baroness existed.� Angel, who travelled on an Austrian passport, was arrested at London�s Heathrow Airport on November 10, 2014 for transporting 12.5 kg of the illicit drugs from Ghana to the United Kingdom (UK). She was also said to be carrying with her an ordinary Ghanaian passport and a diplomatic passport, claims which have since been denied by the government and the UK High Commissioner, Jon Benjamin. The Assin Central MP is on record to have said Nayele Ametefeh is the girlfriend of the president�s brother, Ibrahim Mahama. He is also reported to have said he knows the drug baroness very well, adding her affiliation with the first family facilitated her use of the VVIP section of the Kotoka International Airport while transporting the substance. Communicators of the NDC have also speculated that Kennedy Agyapong is linking the drug baroness to Ibrahim Mahama since she refused his love proposal. These claims, he said, are laughable insisting that he knows Nayele Ametefeh is a close pal of Ibrahim Mahama but �do not know her on a personal level�. Mr. Agyapong noted that he is panic-stricken sometimes when the NDC deliberately links him to several drug barons in the country. �If you [NDC] train people to lie against me then you are in for war; I will fight back�,� he exclaimed.
