Armed Robbers Takes Over Kantamanto Market

Reports reaching 'The Publisher' newspaper indicates that, thousands of traders at Kantamanto market are crying and calling upon the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan to come to their rescue since armed robbers and fraudsters are not giving them a nose to breathe in at their own back yard.

The report revealed that, the robbers mostly operate on Sundays and can sometimes attack customers using tricks (popularly known as 419) and other means to rob them of huge sums of money.

According to the traders, this awful act has been going on for the pass six (6) years and nothing serious is being done about it so far as security issues are concerned.

Our lives are at risk since the police who are supposed to guard and protect us are not helping, the traders lamented.

The traders added that, Accra Central District Police Headquarters and Railway Unit are not worthy to be trusted because an armed robber can be arrested and the next minute he or she is released.

Speaking to an Executive Member of All Traders Associations (Liberty Road) who gave his name as Tico-Tico said that, one of the dangerous ting that the robbers do is sometimes turn themselves as fraudsters by selling soap as mobile phone to their customers.

Tico-Tico urged Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Alhassan to call his men to order in order to end the critics, pointing at fingers on Accra Central District police Headquarters and Railway Police Station at Kantamanto of taking bribes from the robbers will be a thing of the past.

As Christmas is approaching anybody who wants to shop at Kantamanto should not panic, but, rather is extra vigilant that is needed most, about the antics of these fraudsters and their evil plans. Tico-Tico advised.
