Three highly experienced and talented stalwarts of the music and entertainment industry in Ghana have been unveiled as the Judges for the grand finale of the ongoing Airtel Trace Music Star competition which will take place in a live televised show in Accra. and Raquel both well-known accomplished musicians and Kafui Dey, television and radio personality are all looking forward to working on Airtel Trace Music Star. EDEM, born Denning Edem Agbeviadey is a Ghanaian recording artiste, entertainer and performer. He is very well known for his unique rapping style and vocals that have earned him awards such as Reggae song of the year at the BASS Awards, as well as having won the most awards (3) at the recently held 4syte Music Video awards. Raquel, the inspirational and soulful singer is the proud winner of the Most Adorable Female of the Year 2013 at the recent High School Entertainment Awards and the Best Female Act 2012 at the YFM Allstar Weekend Awards. Last year Raquel had 2 nominations at the Hip Hop n RnB Awards and 1 nomination at the 4syte Music Video Awards in 2011. Kafui has an experienced background in music having played in bands as a youngster. He has been the compere of TV and radio shows and other events over the last couple of years. Among his many accomplishments, Kafui Dey promoted the debut album of Ghanaian singer Chemphe. He is an accomplished keyboard player and has played for Rocky Dawuni, Shasha Marley, Knii Lante, Akyeame, and Nakorex. He has also produced original music tunes for commercials such as Maggi, Nido, Indomie and Fanta. All of the Judges are excited about the prospect of discovering home grown talents during the forthcoming short listing of the top 5 talents and subsequent finals of Airtel Trace Music Star. Airtel TRACE Music Star is an international singing contest that recognizes talented young who are dramatically and musically convincing in a wide range of repertoire. The contest aims at giving the nation�s hopefuls a real opportunity to come through the ranks as budding artists of any genre or style. The competition which is the first of its kind, where contestants can win by calling into the Airtel TRACE Star short code 533 and singing their song. The short code can only be accessed from an Airtel. The overall grand prize comprises of a recording deal with Kon Live, a distribution label through Universal Music Group, and an intense mentorship programme with Akon in the United States of America.
