Kwabena Dufuor and Bola Ray Acquire Choice FM

Choice FM, one of urban radios longest running brands has been sold, enewsgh.com can authoritatively say. The station, once one of Accras most listened-to dials, has changed hands. EIB Networks, the media group owned by former Finance Minister Kwabena Dufuor and broadcast personality, Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray), has taken over the station. The Choice FM acquisition will pave way for Adepa 102.3 FM, EIBs latest baby, expected to compete in the Twi-speaking, mass market demographic to commence operations. Workers at the Dzorwulu-based station have since been informed of the new arrangement. Test transmission for the new station will begin in the next few days. It is expected Adepa will go in big, recruiting some of the best hands available. Enewsgh.com is reliably informed some of the stations operating in that market will lose a good number of their staff to Adepa. EIB operates Starr FM in Accra, Empire FM (Takoradi), Cool FM (Cape Coast), Hi FM (Koforidua) and Agoo FM (Nkawkaw). The company has also revamped Ultimate Radio in Kumasi, which will see a change in programming after December 5.
