Alhaji Dawood Remanded

Alhaji Mohammed Dawood, the man alleged to have aided Nayele Ametefeh to transport cocaine to the UK has been remanded in custody by the Circuit Court in Accra. He was refused bail by the court, presided over by Mr Francis Obiri. Daily Graphic's court correspondent Mabel Aku Baneseh reports that he is to reappear on December 8, 2014. Nayele Ametefeh, also known as Ruby Appiah, was arrested by UK security operatives at the Heathrow Airport with an estimated 12.5kg of cocaine and has since pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges. Her case is due back in court on January 5, 2015. It is alleged she successfully flew her 'cargo' out of Ghana with the assistance persons at the Kotoka International Airport.
