The UK High Commissioner to Ghana Jon Benjamin has said although Ghana has been placed in the group of death in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations draw, he is hopeful the Black Stars will emerge tops.

Ghana finds itself in arguably, the toughest group of the tournament as it has been paired with Algeria, South Africa and Senegal in Group C at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars opening game is against Senegal under new coach Avram Grant who took office on December 1, 2014.

Ghana's team will be based in Mongomo with Bata, Ebibeyin and Malabo hosting the other group games.

The opening game will be Equatorial Guinea v Congo on 17 January.

Commenting on the groupings on his twitter account, Benjamin said he is confident the Black Stars will emerge victorious in their group.

That's some 'group of death' for Ghana at the African Cup of Nations, but I fancy the Black Stars to progress regardless.
