General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said any party member or group of party members who intend presenting an alternative candidate to contest President John Mahama for the Flag-bearer slot of the party ahead of the 2016 election, will be doing so out of ignorance or plain malice. �Either they don�t understand the meaning of what they are doing, or they want to bring the party down,� Asiedu Nketia said Thursday. The former Legislator, who is also vying to retain his position in the party�s forthcoming national congress scheduled for December 20, 2014 in Kumasi, expressed anger at the possibility of anybody considering the idea of contesting the President for the slot. The NDC has not hidden the party�s intention to present President Mahama as leader for another presidential election. It is not clear if there are any attempts to give the President competition in the party�s Flag-bearership race, for which reason Mr Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, could be so angry.
