The Ghana Prisons Service has denied accusations of negligence that led to the death of Sima Ibrahim, CEO of the Exopa modeling agency. Ibrahim Sima died Thursday night at the Police Hospital. Prior to his death, Sima had complained of a headache after suffering injuries in a football game. He was rushed to the Police Hospital after receiving first aid at the infirmary of the Nsawam Prisons where he was serving a fifteen-year jail term for drug trafficking. However his son, Abu Ibrahim blames prison authorities for not acting promptly to save his father's life. In defense, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, Francis Adjiri Kwakye on Adom News expressed shock at the accusation by the family. He explained that when Sima complained of headache, he was rushed to the Nsawam Government Hospital and subsequently to the Police Hospital when his condition worsened. �I�m shocked at this accusation because the officers had to contribute monies to hire to ambulance just to save his [Sima] life� he bemoaned. Mr. Adjiri Kwakye said the �inmates are like our brothers� and will therefore not do anything to jeoparise their health or wellbeing. �Even in emergency situations officers use their own personal cars to save the life of an inmate� he added. Meanwhile, authorities of the Police hospital say the necessary arrangements are being made to ensure that Ibrahim Sima�s body is released to the family for possible burial on Monday December 8, 2014.
