A 'Ghanaian Times' photojournalist, Edem Mensah Tsotorme was on Monday December 8, 2014 attacked at an Accra High court by a group who accused him of wrongfully taking pictures of two ladies standing trial in the Nayele cocaine saga. The two ladies: Nana Akua Amponsah and Sadalia Sandra Nuhu were in court on Monday with their lawyers seeking bail; however, they were denied and asked to return on December 12, 2014 for a consideration on their bail request. Expressing shock at the attack, Dave Agbenu, General Secretary of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), told Nana Yaw Kesse, sit-in host of PEACE FM morning show �Kokrokoo�, that it is unfortunate the journalist was attacked in the presence of the Police. According to him, the Police should not have only rescued the journalist but should have gone ahead to arrest the attackers. �Ironically, the very people who are supposed to support us in dealing with some of these issues are present when we are attacked. I understand the police were there when they were attacked and all that they could do was just to rescue the journalist without arresting the attackers� We are going to pursue this matter as a criminal action�if the police will look on for us to be beaten without taking any action; then I think the entire country is in danger because in a normal society, you should think that they should take action immediately,� David Agbenu who also doubles as the Editor of the Ghanaian Times newspaper indicated.
