The Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said that former President Kufuor is a blessing to Ghanaians and the NPP. According to the party former President Kufuor introduced far reaching social policies which have irreversibly advanced the progress of the country and its people when he served as Ghana�s President. �You decriminalised free speech; you introduced the seminal and unprecedented Health Insurance system in our country; you introduced capitation grant, school feeding, free maternal health care; and Metro Mass Transport � a statement signed by Director of Communications Nana Akomea disclosed. The statement continued that he stabilised the Cedi and supervised the discovery of the almighty Oil in commercial quantities for our country. �You supervised the elections of the 2008 and smooth transfer of power, the second only time in the Fourth Republic� the statement said. The statement stressed that after former President Kufuor�s retirement from the presidency, he has uplifted the image of the country by receiving numerous international awards. �You remain a pillar of stability not only in our party but in our country and our continent.
