Lands Commission On Warpath

Officials of the Lands Commission at national, regional and district levels have been tasked to collectively join the crusade in tackling corruption and bureaucracy in order to improve service delivery at all fronts. The Executive Secretary of the commission, Dr Wilfred Anim Odamey, gave the advice at an orientation and sensitisation workshop for officials on new business processes in management and the introduction of a Clients Services and Access Unit. It was attended by all divisional directors and hundreds of officials of the commission from all the districts in the region. Addressing the participants, Dr Odamey charged them to strictly observe the new measures being put in place by management to rebrand the commission and its activities. He said it was the responsibility of officials working at various stages of the land acquisition channel to ensure that their activities inure to the benefit of the people of Ghana. Resource persons like Mr Ben Arthur and Mr Evans Mamphey made various presentations and took the participants through topics like land re-engineering processes and integration into activities of the commission, operational instructions, state land acquisition and application, regularisation and consent to transfer. Other topics treated included re-engineering work flow, plan approval, stamping, operational instructions, and work ethics.
