Ho Demo Leaders Collapse

Residents of Ho in the Volta Region on Thursday morning staged a demonstration exercise over what they describe as governments neglect of their needs, but the exercise nearly turned tragic. Two of their leaders collapsed during the presentation of a petition to the Volta Regional Coordinating Council. According to Citifmonline.com, one of the leaders, Eli Dzetro who was presenting the petition lost focus, started sweating profusely and in the process lost his feet to a nearby protester who grabbed him from his side. It added that, within a twinkle of an eye, another leader, Vincent also collapsed and was quickly rushed to the hospital. That notwithstanding, the group says they are are determined to push their concerns even without the permit of the police or the blessing of the regional minister. The group vowed to protest their displeasure over the state of roads in the Volta Region while accusing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government as insensitive to their needs. They outlined some roads in the region which included the eastern corridor roads that are in bad states and accused government of reneging on its promises to fix the roads in the region. They gave a month ultimatum to government to see to their concerns or expect incessant agitations.
