Tarzan: Gov't Has Lied To The People For Far Too Long...Dumsor Dumsor Will Worsen In 2015

Former Volta River Authority Chief Executive Officer, Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby says he really admires the boldness by the Planning and Business Development Manager of the VRA, Kofi Ellis to publicly admit that Ghanas electricity crisis will be worse in 2015. According Kofi Ellis, this year's rainfall was not adequate to fill the Akosombo Dam, the major power production plant in Ghana, so therefore the power sector is now producing about 1,600 megawatts instead of the expected 2,000 megawatts, a situation he describes as a huge deficit. He however revealed that debt owed it by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is also a factor hindering the operations of the Volta River Authority (VRA) after hinting that the crisis will worsen in the coming year if measures are not taking to solve the problem. Speaking on Asempa FM, Thursday, Dr. Wereko-Brobby also known as Tarzan” opined that, he has already noted all reasons given by Kofi Ellis but government has refused to tell Ghanaians the real truth about the crisis which has been a burden on the citizenry. All what he [Kofi Ellis] has said is the hidden truth. He is the first person from the sector to say that and I have already said this before. I am really happy that someone like Kofi Ellis has been able to spill out the truth about the situation. Government has lied to the people for so long, he said. Nonetheless, the founding member of the NPP pointed out that If we take the decision that needs to be takenwe will make progress as a country. Every institution involved in the power crisis must act responsibly. He however urged the ECG to cut off power to all government institutions which owes them. If someone will not do the right thing2015 will be worse. The erratic power supply will not end, he said.
