Murder Charge For Rosemond Killer

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has ordered the Police to charge Abraham Oyoko Baah, 27, with murder. Abraham is currently standing trial for allegedly murdering Rosemond Nyampong, the Stanbic Bank staff at her residence last year. A provisional charge of murder was preferred against Abraham, who was arrested in connection with the murder of the 32-year-old banker in her home located at Baatona, near Kotobabi Number 2, behind the Manet Cottage on the Spintex Road in Accra. Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicates that the Sakumono District Police Headquarters has subsequently prepared a charge sheet upon the instructions of the A-Gs Department. The police are therefore awaiting a summary of evidence and bail of indictment from the A-Gs office before the murder suspect could be committed to a superior court for the trial to continue. Police investigation team, led by the Sakumono District Police Commander, Superintendent Alex K. Wowolo, is working tirelessly to ensure justice is delivered. Meanwhile, the Tema Magistrate Court, presided over by Eric Adjei, has again remanded the suspect into prison custody to reappear later. Rosemond, until her death, worked in the Credit Department at Stanbic Banks head office in Accra and lived alone. She was not seen in public for days prompting her colleagues and family members to begin a frantic search for her. She was subsequently found dead in her room on November 21, 2013. An autopsy report revealed that the deceased was strangled. It was believed that her body was conveyed to her kitchen after she was murdered outside her house. Her laptop, two mobile phones, television set, sound system and a Toyota Yaris, with Registration Number GT 5133 10, went missing. The police later discovered the deceaseds saloon car at a washing bay at Odumasi Krobo in the Lower Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region, which was being driven by Abraham. Her remaining properties were found in the room of the suspect, who was her neighbour.
