Backbiting Killing CPP - Council Of Elders

The Council of elders of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has described the party's failure to win the various presidential elections as a result of division and backbiting among the party members. This was disclosed at the party's sendoff ceremony for the chairman of the council of elders and the induction of new members at the party's headquarters in Accra. In a keynote address, the chairman of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Edmund N. Delle said despite the problems that the party is facing, they will surprise the other parties, especially, the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party because the spirit of unity in the party is not dead, but still strong and alive. He urged the party members to come together as a team to win the 2016 election because CPP never dies and the sacrifice they have made for the party has helped other countries attain their independence after Ghana got their independence through the help of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his team. The national chairperson and leader of the CPP, Samia Nkrumah said the party has unfinished mission in the country and that the mission is to produce everything locally for Ghanaians through hard work and determination. She added that the party will support Ghanaians to say no to the International Monetary Fund and GMOs, but rather work with farmers to produce more through the help of local entrepreneurs when voted into power. The outgoing chairman, Kweku Amoah Awuah explained that before a party can win any election they need to be united, committed and strong. He challenged the members to show their love for the party by voting for their candidates in any election and not to give their votes to other parties with different excuses. The New Chairman of the Council of Elders of the party, Felix Kwaku Amoah encouraged the new members not to associate with the board but play the role of elders to advice members and executives when they go wayward. He pointed out that the party's lack of discipline has affected the party to lose elections for the past 22 years and until they change those negative attitudes they will never win any election in the country. He added that they can win any election through hard work, unity and encouraged the members, especially, the youth to be active in the party and not to gossip and give names to people.
