Four Arrested Over Zabzugu Chief�s Murder

Four persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the chief of Salinkuga, Naa Sumani Tigu in the Zabzugu District of the Northern Region. Naa Sumani Tigu was murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants at his palace on Tuesday. A family source said he died from two gunshots. He died in an ambulance on the way to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH). According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, the suspects are Musa Alhassan 45, Mohamed Dokugo 50, Douso Mamie 25, and Mohamed Ludin 18. He said the four have been transported to Tamale to assist investigations. According to ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, a prime suspect, Abdulie Mohammed and six others are currently on the run. �We have started a man hunt for them and we hope to quickly arrest them and we will continue with the investigations so that we will be able to establish the reasons why they killed Salin Kuganna Wantimani Kugo,who is 75 years old. We have the local police on the ground they have started some patrol in the Talikugan in the township,� he said. He therefore asked residents in the area to exercise patience and take the law into their hands since the Police are working hard to bring the culprits to book.
