NDC MPs And National Executives Are A Threat To Prez Mahama's Leadership - Sir John

Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has said that NDC MPs as well as the national executives of the ruling party have become a threat to the leadership of President John Mahama. According to him, President Mahama has become aware of his detractors in the party scheming to unseat him [Mahama] from the thrown, hence his sponsorship of his favorite candidates in the party to solidify his control and support in the party. Speaking on Okay Fms Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Sir John as he is known in political circles also alleged that there is an attempt by President Mahama to strip the position of the Akans and other old executives who dont support him and leave Asiedu Nketia to be a lone ranger in the party to make him powerless. He posited that the Majority in Parliament are seriously angry with President Mahama for cheating them out of the stealing spree going on under his watch without money for their common funds and social intervention programs. Additionally, he claimed, the President has blocked every access to him by refusing to grant audience to them to air their displeasure or offer counsel on his style of leadership. Sir John however said that the expected changes the President is hoping will occur in the NDC's frontline (national executives) this weekend at the congress, will in no way alter the perception Ghanaians have about the NDC government as they now see President Mahama as a parcel meant to be given out as a gift. ..NPP is not perturbed by the changes the President is attempting to make in NDC because Mahama himself is a parcel that has been given out as a gift that does not matter to Ghanaians anymore; Ghanaians will vote him out in 2016...the NDC MPs are late President Mills' babies and so they dont like Mahama and his style of governance as he does not listen to them whenever they advice him," he alleged. "They are angry at him for the stealing which has been on-going under his watch. The President only has support from the DCEs and MCEs and some of his ministers; now he wants his people to occupy the national executive positions to protect and support him at the Presidency. President Mahama is behind the monies being spread about towards the NDC congress to get his people elected, he asserted.
