The Ghana National Association of Teachers Ladies Society (GNAT-LAS) in the Akuapem North Municipality, has held a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at Amamfrom. Ms Beatrice Gyadu, Eastern Regional GNAT-LAS Coordinator who was the guest speaker, urged teachers to lead upright lives to become role models for children. She said, many young girls are faced with a lot of challenges, including teenage pregnancy, defilement, rape and many immoral issues, which are threatening their future, and for which they need a lot of support and guidance to overcome. Ms Gyadu observed that any support aimed at helping the girl-child to live better and grow up to become a responsible adult, would make a positive impact on the society as a whole. She advised teachers to avoid all negative and unprofessional attitudes, and work hard, be honesty, disciplined and selfless in whatever they do. The Coordinator congratulated the Municipal Coordinator of GNAT-LAS, and the local secretaries for organizing such a program and wished them well. In a sermon, Mr Oteng Larbi of the Nyamebekyre Municipal Assembly (M/A) School, urged Christians to be humble and seek the guidance of God in times of difficulties, in order to take good decisions that would bring happiness to others and the country as a whole. The occasion was graced by members of GNAT-LAS, other teachers and pupils from the municipality.
