Nana Konadu Will Only Return To NDC In Her Next Life � NDP

The National Democratic Party (NDP) has responded to former President Jerry John Rawlings� call for his wife the former first Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to come back to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). The former President when delivering his speech at the National Delegates Congress of the NDC stated that he felt it was about time his wife was asked to come back to the ruling party. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings left the NDC to form the National Democratic Party (NDP) in 2012 after she lost the flagbearship race of the NDC in 2008. Nana Konadu was unable to contest the 2012 Presidential elections due to the fact that she was disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC). During his speech at the Congress, Fmr. President Rawlings said: �Let us invite our mother, Nana Konadu, to come back home. I hope she can hear us, I hope she can see us but then again, can you blame her?� However, speaking in response to the former President's remarks on PEACE FM, NDP Central Regional Communication Director, Seth Birikorang said �No way, we are moving forward and not backwards�� Adding his voice, the Deputy Communications Director of NDP, Ernest Owusu Bempah said �it will be in her next life before she will go back to the NDC� Nana Konadu will not spit and go back for it.� According to him, Nana Konadu will contest the upcoming 2016 elections and even go ahead to win. �She is going to contest and emerge as the flagbearer of our party,� he added.
