Renew Your Loyalty - Kotei

Mr Solomon Kotei, General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), has called on Ghanaians particularly workers, to renew their unflinching loyalty to the state during Christmas, in order to boost their morale towards increased productivity. He said that is very necessary because the country is the only one we have, and we must all resolve to build a prosperous and orderly nation, devoid of tendencies that will reverse what has been achieved so far Mr Kotei's call is contained in his Christmas message through the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra. He said it would need hard work, dedication to duty as they have been doing before, and called on government and employers to motivate workers by providing the necessary tools and money to boost employees morale. He said when export grows, the nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow, and the export lines must be clear to facilitate the exportation of goods, adding, we want the GDP to reflect in our pockets. In driving the country forward, profuse spending must stop, and all expenditure must be transparent and well accounted for. Mr Kotei urged the opposition to desist from unsubstantiated propaganda, to enable government stay focused on national development issues. In a related message, Mr Pius Kweku Quainoo, General Secretary of the Construction and Building Material Workers Union (CBMWU) of the Trades Union Congress, wished workers a Merry Christmas and very Prosperous New Year, adding that they should embrace themselves to meet the challenges ahead. However, he said, with solidarity they would be able to overcome all problems if they remained united.
