Melcom warehouse at the North Industrial Area in Accra was Saturday morning gutted by fire destroying millions of properties.
According to report, caretakers saw smoke billowing from the warehouse at dawn but all efforts to bring it down failed when they called the fire services for reinforcement.
Fire tenders battled the fire whilst police officers were at the scene to prevent looting and maintain security in the area.
�Not much may be salvaged from the mainly electronic warehouse� an eyewitness said
The cause of the fire is not yet ascertained but it is suspected to be down to electrical faults.
A caretaker said more than five hours after firefighters arrived at the scene, they have been able to bring the fire under control.
