PHOTOS: We Must Change Our Attitude Towards National Sanitation Exercise - Asantehene

Royal Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has asked members of the public to fully participate in the National Sanitation Exercise to help rid the environment and the country of filth. According to him, we can only help keep Ghana clean if we change our attitude towards the national sanitation day exercise and be actively involved in the monthly exercise. Otumfour Osei Tutu II made this known on Saturday when he joined thousands of people to mark the national sanitation exercise which was held in Kumasi. Lauding the Local government minister, Hon.Julius Debrah, Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr.Samuel Sarpong, Mayor of Kumasi, Kwadwo Bonsu for the organization of the exercise, he explained that filth kills and that every body should constantly clean his or her environment. "We should not wait for Government to tell us to clean our surroundings...that money we take to the hospital when we are sick can equally be used for other things that will be more beneficial to us; so I entreat each and everyone to help make Kumasi and Ghana a clean place for all" he added. He also charged the local government ministry to ensure that all the refuse are collected after the clean-up exercise otherwise work done will be zero. "I will personally move around in the evening to see if all those refuse gathered have been collected. I am however impressed about today's exercise, the turn up has been great,I will be available anytime to participate in the National Sanitation Day Exercise to help make Ghana and my kingdom (Asanteman) a clean place for all" he added.
