Veep In Crunch Meeting With Chiefs And Citizens Of Nkonya/Alavanyo

Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur has appealed to the Chiefs and people of Nkonya and Alavanyo to end the long standing conflict and pave the way for development. He said the conflict is not only affecting economic activities in the two neighbouring communities but also thwarting national security efforts as government has to always mobilize security personnel to the two communities to restore law and order. Vice President Amissah Arthur made the appeal at a crunch meeting at Kpando between the two feuding Paramountcies in search of a lasting solution to the century year old conflict. Vice President Amissah Arthur therefore emphasised that while government is determined to resolve the land dispute it will equally deal with the criminals once and for all. The Ankobeahene of Nkonya Wurupong, Nana Apem Darko said the recent skirmishes which have resulted in the killing of innocent people have nothing what so ever to do with the land dispute. For his part, the Paramount Chief of Alavanyo, Togbega Tsedze Atakora said peace is possible.
