Residents of Brahoho in the Nkoranza Municipality bagged an amount of GHC2,100 at a fund-raising rally organised by them to purchase sports equipment for the local Junior High School (JHS).
���� The programme, which coincided with the school�s 25th anniversary celebration was attended by hundreds of people including the Nkoranza Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Godfred Axolu.
���� Mr Axolu praised the people for organising the programme towards the development of the school, adding that their action was a perfect indication that the �school is your own property�.
���� He called for the collaborative efforts of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to promote discipline among the students for enhanced academic standard in the school.
���� Mr Axolu advised the students to learn hard and pursue their education to the higher levels to enable them acquire gainful employment and better their livelihood.
���� He said, �a responsible student is a great asset to the community�, and therefore urged parents and guardians to invest much of their resources in the education of their children to enable them develop their talents and achieve their goals.
���� Mr. Joseph Anto-Appiah, Assemblyman for the area, expressed gratitude to the people for their unity of purpose and urged the non-resident citizens of the area to visit home regularly to offer their widow�s mite in aid of the on-going development projects in the community.
���� Nana Manu Obeng, an elder of the town, who presided advised parents to provide their children with the necessary basic needs to sustain their interest in school.
