Unemployed Beaten To Pulp

A 30-year-old unemployed Togolese escaped near death at Adjei Kojo when some personnel from the Ashaiman District Police rushed to save his life from the grips of an angry mob. Briefing The Finder, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Tetteh Yakah, Ashaiman District Crime Officer, said about 9.30am last Tuesday, the suspect, Komla Amedzochi, went to the residence of his victim, Felicia Abotsi Bonnie, to enquire of an unknown resident in the house. When the victim answered that there was no one in her house by the name the suspect mentioned, he quickly drew a knife and stabbed the right hand of the victim, which was holding a door on the first floor of her storey building. Felicia, ASP Yakah narrated, gathered courage and shoved Komla from the storey building and raised an alarm. Neighbours rushed to the scene and subjected Komla to brutal beatings until the police were called to the scene to save him. Komla Amedzochi, ASP Yakah described, needed to be rushed to the Police Hospital, Accra, while police carried an investigation into the matter. The victim was also given a police medical form for treatment. Meanwhile, ASP Emmanuel Tetteh Yakah commended the residents of Ashaiman and its environs for zero violent crime during the Christmas and New Year festivities. He further commended the police personnel for their hard work.
