Clergyman Expresses Concern About False Pastors

The Rev Prof Immanuel Agbozo, Founder of Ghana Evangelical Society (GES), a non-denominational evangelistic movement, has expressed concern about the spate of false pastors who are not called and commissioned by God. These false pastors have either formed their own churches or have been wrongly ordained. They are not only messing up and sending false signals but also are defiling the flock and the church body in general, he said. Rev Agbozo said this in Accra at a church leaders dinner on the theme: That They All May be One organized by the GES. The meeting, which brought together church leaders, was to create a platform for the promotion of goodwill and unity in the divided and polarized nation. Rev Agbozo said the meeting was also to portray the churchs common testimony that it had been called and sent to the nation, the people and the government. He said the country was witnessing a confused state of disorder and misconduct in churches, adding that churches were out of order with regard to the truth in their internal organizations, management and performance. This can only be attributed to poor teaching and disciplining, and wrong direction on the truth, ways, knowledge and fear of God, he said. Rev Agbozo said churches were now run by worldly leadership, management and business principles and practices without regard to the truth of scripture and the Holy Spirit. He added that the country was faced with the canker of competition in the church which affected peaceful existence, cohesion and unity in effective proclamation of the voice of God in the church, in national affairs and in the world.
