Son Clubs Father With Machete �Over Piece Of Land

A Thirty-Year old man, Kwadwo Sampson has allegedly axed his father, Francis Annor over a piece of land at Tei -Nkwanta near Koforidua in the Eastern region. The victim, step father to the suspect, has since been treated and discharged from the Koforidua Regional Hospital; meanwhile a complaint has been lodged at the Central Police Station. Information gathered by the DAILY HERITAGE indicates that the incident occurred on Saturday when the victim attempted to continue construction works on a disputed piece of land belonging to the wife who is physically challenged and bedridden. Sources indicated that, the suspect on several occasions opposed the construction of a building on the piece of land by the step father since the land does not belong to him. However, the step father ignored the threat and started constructing a three-bedroom house on the land which has reached the window stage and on Saturday when the step father visited the plot of land and started working, the suspect sneaked from his back and attacked him with a machete causing several injuries to the head and chest. Speaking to the victim, he explained that while working on the land, the suspect attacked him with an axe, but he managed to block it initially; however, the suspect succeeded during the second and third attempts causing severe injuries to his head and chest. He said had it not been a passersby who came to his rescue, the step son would have killed him. When contacted, the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, Supt. Richardson Kumeko confirmed the story, but explained that investigations are ongoing and added that the suspect will be arrested. He said a medical form has been issued to the victim.
