The Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ransford Moses Ninson, has advised police personnel in the region to eschew alcoholism. According to him, apart from its health and financial problems, it also tarnishes the image of the service. He noted that besides their policing duties, police men and women are also seen as role models, hence they should exhibit proper attitudes and qualities that would set high standards in the service. DCOP Ninson, who was speaking at the End of Year Get-Together of the Police Wives Association (POLWA) at Cape Coast in the Central Region last week Tuesday, urged police personnel to always do perfect work. He appealed to the POLWA to help, support, and pray for their husbands to boost their moral for them to execute their duties effectively and efficiently, adding that the officers need physical and spiritual protection. DCOP Ninson also regretted the situation where some police officers frequently beat up their wives, and advised the men to eschew such behaviour and solve their marital issues professionally and in an amicable manner. He entreated the wives of police personnel, who are yet to join the association, to do so to attract more support and sponsorship. The Central Regional President of POLWA, Mrs. Comfort Tsuimidjor, commended their husbands for their moral support through love and care, even through hardships and trying times.
