Mahama Ayariga, Minister for Youth and Sports, has urged the Black Stars to put the past behind them and concentrate on the task ahead as they commence their campaign in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
In a press statement signed on behalf of the minister by Larry George Botchway, Deputy Public Relations Officer at the ministry, it said, the players must psyche themselves up for the task ahead and use this tournament to end the trophy drought that Ghana has experienced for the past three decades.
�Ghana needs to re-establish itself as Africa�s football giant and the whole world is looking up to us. Let us renew our determination to succeed this time around, since this tournament presents a perfect opportunity for us to do so.�
The statement tasked the technical and management teams of the Black Stars to ensure that the playing body was well conditioned and prepared physically, mentally and psychologically ahead of the competition.
It also called on Ghanaians to rally behind the team and provide them the needed support to succeed in Equatorial Guinea.
