SHS Student Gives Birth Minutes After Detecting Pregnancy

A final year student of City Senior High School in Tamale has given birth a baby boy minutes after Doctors detected she was pregnant. The student whose name is Angela hails from Goaso-Asumuna in the Brong-Ahafo Region was rushed to the SDA Hospital in the Northern Regional capital by fellow students after complaining of acute stomach ache. Critical examination by Doctors of the SDA Hospital in Tamale revealed a nine month pregnancy and diagnosed the acute stomach being experienced by Angela was pain associated with the beginning of childbirth. This news came as a shock to both Angela and her mates who accompanied her to the hospital but after a few minutes of contestation of the report by the doctors; she was rushed to the Labour Ward for delivery. However, her parents have also express great surprise at the development since according to them; there was no sign of their daughter being pregnant. In an interview with Peace News, the teenage mother revealed that there was no indication pointing to her pregnancy and had her normal menstrual cycle. ��I did not know I was pregnant because I always looking normal. My menstruation cycle dropped from seven days to five after a short time but did not understand what was happening,� Angela disclosed.
