Nayeles Mother Appears In Court Today

The mother of convicted drug courier Nayele Ametefe also known as Ruby Adu Gyamfi is expected to appear before an Accra High Court today. Madam Akua Adubofo, 58, is alleged to have assaulted an official of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB). Madam Adubofo allegedly assaulted the NACOB official when they went to post seizure notices on the property believed to belong to Nayele. She was not happy that her daughter's properties were going to be confiscated, hence she reportedly slapped one of NACOB's officials. She was subsequently arrested after NACOB filed a complaint at the Airport police station in Accra and was later granted bail. Nayele Ametefe was sentenced to eight years in prison on her own plea by the Isleworth Crown Court in London. She was convicted of transporting 12 kilograms of cocaine to the United Kingdom.
