Ex-Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has revealed his failure to lift a trophy with the Black Stars to be his greatest regret in his playing career. Appiah failed to lift any silverware with the Senior National team despite captaining the Black Stars for more than six years. The 34-year-old despite representing Ghana at three Cup of Nations and two World Cup tournaments could not win any title for his native country. The celebrated Ghanaian footballer who is famed with his great leadership qualities and commitment to the National team has expressed regret for not clinching any medal with the Senior National team. �I think I have accomplished my mission as a footballer because not every player was able to achieved what I have attained in my career� �My only regret is failing to lift trophy with the Black Stars Team during my time of play� The former Juventus midfielder who was a member of the Black Stars backroom staff at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil made history when he led Ghana to her first FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006. The ex-Accra Hears of Oak man has been considered as one of the most decorated Black Stars players in recent times following his exploits with the Senior National team as captain. The former Fenabache midfielder announced his retirement from Football having made 67 appearances for the Black Stars.
