I Never "Fired" At Prez Mahama...Daily Searchlight Got It All Wrong!!! - NDC MP

Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the Wassa East Constituency in the Eastern Region, who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, has dismissed a publication in the Monday, 2nd February, 2015 issue of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, describing it as false.

To him, the story with the caption “NDC MP fires Mahama” has been attributed to him wrongly.

“…the paper got it wrong. I did not appear on that show on Friday. It must be the MP for Techiman South, Hon. Adjei Mensah and not me,” he said.

In the publication, Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah was said to have called on President Mahama to buy crude oil to solve the current energy crisis facing the country.

According to the paper, “speaking on National Agenda programme on Oman last Friday, the legislator (Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah) bemoaned the dwindling of production and businesses which is affecting revenue and is having a rippling effect on the economy”.

However, in a response on NEAT FM , he vehemently refuted the assertion by stating: “…story says I spoke to Oman FM but that is not true. It could not have been me and I am very disappointed the paper did not do a proper check before putting out this story”.

He added that his checks have reveled that it was rather the Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman South, Hon. Adjei Mensah who appeared on the National Agenda programme last Friday.

“I have had a conference call with the MP for Techiman South (Hon. Adjei Mensah) and he admitted appearing on the show last Friday but did not say if he indeed made the comments being attributed to me”.

“I also spoke to the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper who has promised to investigate to correct the mix-up what actually went” he told Adakabre Frimpong Manso
