Ghanaians are frustrated at the many failed promises of the Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) concerning the ongoing power crisis in the country.

Many are losing their jobs and productivity is on the decline as the power crisis worsens.

However, the Power Minister, Hon Kwabena Donkor, has indicated government's resolve to work assiduously to bring the energy challenges to an end. He has further given the assurance that by the end of 2015, the ‘dumsor dumsor’ will end; failure of which he will resign.

Speaking to the issue on PEACE FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, the Central Regional Chairman of the ruling NDC, Bernard Allotey Jacobs wondered why Ghanaians are condemning the president for promising that Government will resolve the crisis within the “shortest possible time”. 

A confident-sounding President Mahama is reported to have said this on Tuesday in Tema when he inspected some power and energy installations to ascertain the progress of work and how their completion could support the power deficiency.

His assurances nonetheless, some have called on the president to focus on solving the energy crisis, instead of repeatedly giving promises.

But the Central Regional Chair of the NDC want Ghanaians to let the president be.

“Should the president also join Ghanaians in crying? No!! That is why he is doing all he can to solve the problem. We should build hope and be positive in our thinking. Every problem has a solution and an end. Very soon President Mahama will solve the problem because when he promises, he fulfills. As humans we need to go through challenges; building a nation is not easy…, ” he said.
