It Is Needless To Run Kwame Nkrumah Down In Order To Celebrate J.B Danquah - Kabila

Former National Youth Organizer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh has bemoaned the rate at which the country’s history is being twisted by followers of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and J.B Danquah.

According to him, it is impossible to water-down the role of Dr. J.B Danquah in Ghana’s history of politics, education and development but added it is also wrong to twist historical facts that he is the first PhD holder in Ghana’s history.

He revealed on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show that before J.B Danquah was born in 1895, there was a Ghanaian professor in the University of Netherlands around 1768.

He insisted it is wrong to overplay the role of Dr. J.B Danquah in Ghana’s history as the nation’s downfall is greatly caused by copying blindly and the assertion that some people see themselves as more Ghanaian than others; indicating such behavior is causing the confusion and misunderstanding in the history of Ghana.

To him, both his CPP and the NPP are guilty of the fact that at every attempt to eulogize Dr. Kwame Nkrumah there is an attempt to run down the role of J.B Danquah, thus the followers of J.B Danquah did same against Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in the memorial lecture which was held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Disagreeing with the happenings, Kabila as he is known in political circles fumed that it is useless to discuss the kind of attire Dr. Kwame Nkrumah wore on his arrival to Ghana as there are more pressing issues in this country which need attention.

He maintained that it is this kind of hatred which is greatly affecting the country to the extent that people no longer find time to discuss important issues.

“It is needless to run Kwame Nkrumah down in order to celebrate J.B Danquah...," he said.
