Baba Jamal: As Long As Prez Mahama Is Content With Prosper Bani, We Are OK"

The Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations has downplayed a publication in the Wednesday’s edition of the Enquirer Newspaper with the caption, ‘Revealed! Fear and Panic At Flagstaff House…After Botched Firing of Chief Of Staff’.

To Baba Jamal, the publication is nothing but a figment of the imagination of the writer and also an opinion which he would not begrudge the paper for.

“…I know the Enquirer would not say anything good about the government but they are entitled to their opinion.

“It would be wrong to compare the current Chief of Staff to Nana Ato Dadzie or Kwadwo Mpiani because they all did not work under one President. If they all worked under the same President, then, the comparison would be right,” he said.

Baba Jamal further stated that Prosper Bani must be allowed to work because he operates and works in a different style from other Chief of Staffs to the President “we have known so he must be allowed to work and help the President to the best of his ability”.

Speaking on Okay FM , the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia made these comments in reaction to a claim by the Enquirer newspaper that “fear and panic” had gripped workers at the seat of government.

According to the newpaper, “some players at the Presidency are in constant fear and panic because of the presence of the Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Douglas Bani”.

The paper went on to assert that “…insiders have it that there were numerous clashes between Mr. Bani and Dr. Atuguba when Mr. Bani consistently poked his nose into the affairs of Dr. Atuguba”.

Meanwhile, Baba Jamal is of the view that as long as the President is content with Mr. Bani’s work, “we are all ok”.
