Briefing
According to ASP Tetteh, on February 9 this year,  the three students — all aged 18, —went to a shop belonging to Hajia Fati at the Kaladan Park area to buy an item. Upon arrival, they saw the suspect mopping the shop.

He said one of the girls, Samira, then offered to assist the woman in her mopping exercise which she obliged. Upon finishing the exercise, the victim asked permission to leave with her friends.

Later, Hajia Fati detected that an amount of GHC3,100 in her purse was missing.

ASP Tetteh said Hajia Fati pursued the three girls and brought them back to the shop but could not find the money in their possession after a thorough search. Not satisfied, she called her husband who joined her to subject the girls to severe beatings and the subsequent torture by the mob.
