The sodomy case involving Dr. Sulley Ali Gabass, the medical doctor was adjourned yesterday to February 17, after the cross-examination of the second witness ended.
Manasse Azure Awuni, the Joy fm investigative journalist, the second witness testified.
He first published the story on October, 23, 2014 after an interview he had with the accused and an order for his (Dr. Gabass’) arrest by the police subsequently.
The case has since been on trial at the Accra Circuit Court.
The victim, had given his evidence-in-chief, which was followed with a cross-examination by the counsel for the accused, and completed on January 23.
He ended his testimony on Tuesday and was cross-examined by the defence counsel yesterday.
He appeared in court with his lawyer, Sampson Larde Ayene, and was subjected to cross-examination by counsel for Dr. Gabass which ended same day.
For that reason, the court, presided over by Mrs. Rita Agyemang-Budu, adjourned until February 17.
Information gathered by The Ghanaian Times from the prosecution indicated that a third prosecution witness would be called to testify.
Dr. Gabass is still on remand.
The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Idan Derry, told the court that the accused, between October 2013 and April 2014, sodomised the teenager five times at Kasoa in the Central Region and Alajo in Accra.
He said the victim is a student and lives at Kasoa, while Dr. Gabass is a medical practitioner at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Takoradi.
Dr. Gabass, according to the prosecutor, encountered the victim on facebook in September, 2013, and they became friends and later established contacts on phone and online.
The court was told that in October 2013, Dr. Gabass arranged and met victim at the Kasoa New Market area and had anal sex with him in his car, in front of a bank.
On December 28, 2013, at about 7 p.m., he again met victim at Kasoa and had sex with him, after which he gave him a Samsung Galaxy phone and GH¢20 which the teenager initially turned down, but was coaxed to accept.
Thereafter, victim fell ill and informed the accused and he prescribed paracetamol for him.
