A 25-year-old draughtsman, who sodomised his neighbour’s 11-year-old son at Ewim, in the Cape Coast metropolis has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment by the Cape Coast Circuit Court.
Nathaniel Taylor, pleaded guilty to defilement, and was sentenced on his own plea.
Passing the sentence, Ms. Audrey Kocuvie-Tay, the Presiding Judge, condemned Taylor and cautioned others against such despicable acts.
Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Okyere Andam, prosecuting, told the court that the complainant, the mother of the boy, unemployed, lives with her son, the victim, in the same neighbourhood with Taylor.
On Thursday, January 27, at about 6.30 a.m., victim was watching Zuma, a digital game, on Taylor’s laptop in the porch and Taylor asked him to go into his room and bring the remote control of the television set.
As soon as victim entered the room, Taylor followed up, locked the door, gagged and had anal sex with him.
After satisfying himself, Taylor freed him, but out of fear, he could not disclose his ordeal to his mother until he went to the toilet and had difficulty with easing himself.
Victim’s mother, noticing his son’s difficulty, questioned him, and he recounted how Taylor had had anal sex with him, and she reported the case to the police who issued him with medical forms to attend hospital for examination and treatment.
Taylor was subsequently arrested.
