“Is this the relationship the NDC is going to have with the media? To be banging the phone on them? This same media helped the NDC to come to power. They (NDC) fought so hard to win the confidence and the trust of the media and today these are the kind of invectives they are visiting on the media”.

Anthony Abeyifa Karbo made the above comment in reaction to Mahama Ayariga’s assertion that journalists ask ‘useless’ questions on PeaceFM on Friday.

The Minister of Sports who was obviously tired of the avalanche of questions being thrown at him by the media concerning AFCON 2015 budget said: “Morning show hosts ask useless questions on this budget. Journalists have not been fair to the Black Stars”

Speaking to the issue in a panel discussion on Friday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’, the former National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) described the Sports Minister’s behavior as “sheer arrogance” and demanded that he apologises.

“There is no need for exhibiting such behavior” Karbo said; adding, “even if the players had won the cup, we would have still demanded for the budget”

“Sheer arrogance…today is Friday and the Minister will definitely go to Jumah prayers; he must make sure he issues an apology on this matter…we are being told the President is a media man and if this is how his appointees will go round disrespecting the media…then they should come and tell us if he has not flouted the code of conduct given to them by the President,” he added.
