Vote Out Idle Assembly MembersAshaiman MCE

The Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Ibrahim Baidoo has advised the electorates to retain only assembly members who performed creditably during their tenure of office during the forthcoming local level elections.

This, according to him, would be the only way to ensure that the Aassembly continues to be dynamic and strive for the needed development.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghanaian Times yesterday, here, he explained that Ashaiman needs assembly members who are “competent and forthcoming” and willing to work in the interest of the municipality as the job was purely voluntary.

Mr. Baidoo noted that if the right calibre of assembly members were not elected development of the area would be hindered.

He appealed to voters to eschew apathy, but rather turnout massively and cast their ballot on Tuesday, March 3, in order to deepen governance at the local level.

He congratulated incumbent assembly members for their contributions to the municipality during their term of office and wished them good luck as some of them seek the mandate of the people again.

The Chief Executive further urged residents to cooperate with the assembly as it rolls up more development projects and programmes to ensure that the municipality successfully implements its development blue print.
